RIP david foster wallace

It's very sad news about the American novelist, David Foster Wallace. He was an explorer of language. There was something about the way he looked at the technical limits of the sentence that said something really, incredibly evocative about human nature. Zadie Smith said of him, "He's so modern he's in a different time-space continuum from the rest of us." That'll do for me. There are some interesting tributes on literary site, McSweeneys. If you don't know his stuff, I'd recommend Oblivion.
